I accessed and reviewed the CDP UK Cities Report EN (link provided) and extracted key findings—UK cities’ environmental and sustainability efforts, that 77% of local authorities have a climate adaptation plan and 97% are implementing actions, an estimated £17.4 billion adaptation investment gap, and discussion of purpose-driven business approaches such as B Corps—which demonstrate the real-world challenges, opportunities and capital needs of urban climate resilience. This evidence supports inclusion in Part 2: The Purposeful Investment Landscape, and specifically the 'Explore the Landscape' chapter, by grounding the chapter’s guidance on financial tools and questions in concrete urban investment needs, risks and examples that help investors align capital with sustainability and resilience objectives.
